Homeschool Programs in Boulder and Denver
The Adventure Quest Homeschool Program is a weekly program offering a social and educational enrichment experience for Boulder County homeschoolers. It also happens to be incredibly FUN! Adventure Quest programs develop the “whole child”, with a heavy emphasis on social and emotional learning (SEL). In small groups of six, every “quester” is celebrated and given their chance to shine.
Social and Emotional Learning
Social and Emotional Learning is naturally integrated within the context of Adventure Quest programs. As the students participate as heroes within a mythical and magical story, they confront challenges as a team. Not only does working as a team employ SEL opportunities, but many of the plot points themselves are planned to develop the participants’ social skills. Every Adventure Quest storyline is written with challenges that are intentionally designed to engage the whole child. Quest outcomes supporting SEL include:

Quests Give Brains A Workout
In Adventure Quest Homeschool programs, participants or “questers” work together to overcome interesting challenges, read maps, solve riddles, and brainstorm unique solutions to puzzling dilemmas. Each quester chooses a mythic character to embody as they journey through the quest. Their characters have skills and strengths that are creatively used to conquer tricky quest challenges. The quest can only be realized when all participants put their strengths and smarts together to tackle the obstacles.
Physical Challenges in Quests
Questing gets the body moving. Participants are given physical challenges as part of the quest. For example, they might have to move through a spider web made of rope without touching it to get past the sleeping spider. Swashbuckling with safe, foam swords, is also a part of all quests. Swords are symbols that aid us in opening a gateway into the mythic realms, reflections of which are seen in the knights of King Arthur and other legends. Moreover, swashers are a useful teaching tool for awakening in the youth a respect for physical safety and emotional boundaries.
