Teen Program and CIT Information

The Hero's Academy

The Hero’s Academy is a transformative program specifically designed for teens. The quests that they embark upon challenge these young adults to be authentic and creative, and they participate in more hands-on activities than our Adventure Quest program (including leather crafting, overnight camping, and some basic wilderness skills).

The Teen Leadership Program

Learn the arts of storytelling and improvisational acting, as well as the skills of conflict-resolution, team-building and responsible empowerment! The Teen Leadership Program incorporates and expands the CIT program from previous years. Teen Leaders (aka CITs) apprentice with our skilled Quest Leaders to develop leadership skills.

All Teen Leaders must:

CIT Apprentices: They attend our quests at 50% rate of normal Questers, as they take on some of the duties and responsibilities of a leader. CITs that show exemplary mentorship and playacting skills may be invited to become a Master CIT.

There are two types of CIT Apprentices:

Master CITs: CIT Knights that have proven themselves to be of such help they attain this level, at the recommendation of the CIT Trainer(s) and Quest Leader CIT evaluations. They are a benefit to any group they join, and the group can accommodate two CITs - one Master and one Apprentice. Master Teen Leaders pay a nominal registration fee, but otherwise come for free.

Grandmaster CITs: These Master CITs have graduated to the top level of the Teen Leadership Program, and they are so invaluable to our quests that we would love for them to join any time and place that suits them, with very little guidance needed. They are no longer campers, but rather volunteers to be treated like staff members. They come for free and can move freely between groups. Master and Grandmaster CITs who are at least 16-years old may apply to become an Opportunity Quest Leader. Opportunity Quest Leaders are Grandmaster CITs that Quest Lead a group on their own within sight and sound of an adult staff member.

For information about any of these programs or options, please call the office at (303) 786-9216. All CITs should complete and send in the CIT Packet, and register for the CIT Training and two summer weeks before the beginning of summer.
